FAQs

What if I just want to learn to cut hair?
Cosmetology is a theory and hands-on-learning experience. Yes, you will learn about cutting hair, but you will also be required to learn about coloring, perming, chemical hair relaxing, and much, much more. Creative Hair Styling Academy provides a total educational experience.

Are there any hidden fees?
No. It is our intention to have all students aware of the cost of their education before they enroll. Our Admissions Director, Susan Richards, will review all costs with each new student. Ms. Richards will provide every student with a Menu of Services. If you wish to have your hair colored, permed, etc., all we ask is that you pay for the product(s) used during those services.

Am I too old to go back to school?
Our experience with more mature students is that they truly have the dedication and ambition it takes. If any student needs guidance in academics, or any facet of their educational experience, our Support Services Director, Pamela Campbell, is also a licensed instructor that would be happy to help any student through any challenges they might experience. No matter what age, though, remember that your education will require physical stamina. Cosmetology is a theory and hands-on learning experience, which can mean hours on your feet throughout the day.

Student Support Services

So that our students know that their interests are being consistently served, we maintain a Student Support System that enhances the total educational process.

A planned Orientation Program is held so that you become familiar with the course of instruction, the course goals, the policies of the Academy, its staff, our satisfactory progress standards and all of the student services.

At regularly planned intervals, evaluations are made of the students' progress, both in class work and clinical work, up to that point. Both strengths and limitations are discussed at that time. Counseling sessions are well-documented and records maintained.

We have a full-time staff in our Financial Aid Office and are equipped and trained to give guidance to those needing financial assistance to continue their post-secondary education. Our staff is also prepared to give you assistance in licensing regulations, reciprocity requirements and continuing education sessions, as well as job placement assistance.

Employment Assistance

The Academy will assist all students in placement for employment at the time of their graduation by supplying them with a list of known job opportunities available at that time. Our placement facilitator will also release names of recent graduates to employers who contact the Academy seeking employees, unless otherwise requested by a student. However, the Academy does not guarantee employment.
